TREE is a group of local residents, local councillors and members of other like-minded groups who have come together with a vision of reducing the carbon footprint of Truro and surrounding parishes, reducing fuel poverty and increasing community cohesion.
We would like to see a thriving Truro, meeting its energy needs from community-owned renewables from which the community will benefit financially. This will have the benefit of increasing our fuel security, helping the local economy and giving residents more power over our future.
In order to meet our aims of reducing fuel poverty, we are working with other agencies to identify those who are vulnerable and help them get the accurate help and advice they need.
We are also looking into the feasibility of small-scale renewable projects which would be owned by the community and the income from which would benefit local facilities.
We welcome anyone who would like to join us. We need a variety of skills and no previous knowledge of renewable energy is necessary – just an enthusiasm to see a better future of the Truro area.
If you would like to join us or simply find out how you can reduce your carbon footprint, save money on fuel bills or benefit from renewable energy then please get in touch!
